Typically, I hate plastic anything, but I decided I should have plastic dinnerware for outside. I wanted something sturdy enough that can withstand outdoor abuse, especially from children. I also wanted toxin-free, non-melamine, and I didn't want acrylic. American made was also a must.So, I purchased 2 of these Preserve Everyday Plastic Tableware sets in blue. (I had an issue with one of the sets missing cups, but Amazon customer service took care of it promptly.)These truly have everything you need in the set...plates, bowls, cups and silverware. The plates, cups and bowls are very sturdy...you can even toss them across the yard, and they do not break or crack. The plastic silverware is the most durable I have had of these types.... they actually have an ability to bend instead of snapping and breaking, while still being sturdy enough to use as eating utensils. I think these will be perfect for the roughness children might put them through.I would recommend these. About 8 years ago they last love new ones so much more. They are thicker so no warping. This time got for 3 different families they all love it. One must you have to sell people not to toss out. But new ones much thicker so less riskI received this in a bag that contained four bowls, four cups, and four plates. No cutlery, despite that the bag specifically said “cutlery” on it and I had ordered it with cutlery.It seems to be microwave safe. The bowls and plates were rather small, so I wouldn’t recommend this for more than one person. Also, there may be items missing.Update: After two weeks I somehow burned a hole right through the plate. Microwaving a brownie for one minute. I’d recommend not buying this if you want to use it as anything other than camp cookware or something short term.Rather wimpy for the price but maybe just because I had melamine for 25 years. It is recyclable which is good but nothing special about it. Should have bought light weight stainless steel from Canadian Tire.Very pleased with this purchase. Worked really well for our camping trip and I’m hoping we get many years of use from them.Really good quality. Excellent for camping.
